About Gill

Gill Elliott moved to Lyme Regis in 1998 and gained her Licentiateship of the Royal Photographic Society in 2000. To broaden her artistic experience of photography she enrolled on the Master’s degree programme at the University of Plymouth. On a practical level, she is most fascinated by the dramatic landscapes and fine formations of the South West; these she explores with the use of her Pinhole camera and film. Do not look for sharpness in these images: there is no lens in use! Gill began to specialise in International Tennis photography in 2007 and has worked at a variety of tournaments including Davis Cup, Masters and Grand Slams. She has been privileged to photograph the greats both on and off court.

About Lyme Bay School of Photography

Gill established her school of photography in 1999 and it has steadily expanded since then until there are now eight classes of six students. The emphasis is on continuously learning new things and the classes are taught in a lively & professional manner. Absolute beginners are welcome to learn how to use their cameras and take their favourite type of images. Or, with more experience, students can follow the ‘New Approaches’ classes and workshops (see ‘Our Work' sections) to develop their skills and practice in particular areas of photography. Gill designs individual learning programmes for each person. She teaches all technical & creative aspects of photography so that you will be able to make & create your images in your camera. Composition is developed by weekly critiques of your work so that you become more & more creative & confident . Gill is passionate about all things ‘photography’; history, creativity & encouraging people to develop their own individual style(s) of working as you will see in the galleries & exhibition images.
